Quality assurance and testing

The paperwork has to match the parts.

This page describes what Fortex does and what you receive. Where a formal certification is held it will be named here with its number and issuing body. Where one is not held, this page says nothing rather than implying it.

On certification

Fortex does not display a certification mark it does not hold. Management system certification status is listed below exactly as it stands.

CLIENT TO SUPPLY: ISO 9001 status — held, in progress with a target date, or not held

Quality and documentation

What ships with every order

  1. 01

    Material test certificate (MTC)

EN 10204 3.1 for metals and fasteners, carrying the heat or batch number so the material can be traced back from the part in your hand.

  2. 02

    Certificate of analysis (COA)

For composite reinforcement and resin systems: areal weight, tow specification, resin batch, and shelf life with the manufacture date.

  3. 03

    Dimensional inspection report

Measured values against the drawing, not a pass or fail stamp. Sample size stated. CMM reports where the tolerance or the customer requires them.

  4. 04

    Packing list and photographs

Carton-level packing list with weights and dimensions, plus photographs of the goods as packed before the container is sealed.

Quality assurance and testing

Testing available on request

  • Coordinate measuring machine (CMM) dimensional reporting
  • Hardness testing, Rockwell and Vickers
  • Non-destructive testing: dye penetrant, magnetic particle, ultrasonic
  • Tensile and proof load testing on fasteners
  • Salt spray testing to ASTM B117 on coated parts
  • Positive material identification (PMI) by XRF

Packing standards

Sea freight packing by default: fumigated plywood cases or ISPM 15 compliant pallets, VCI film and desiccant on ferrous parts, edge protection on plate and composite rolls. Air freight packing on request where volumetric weight matters more than crush resistance.

See the documents before you order

A sample inspection report and a sample material certificate tell you more about a supplier than any badge row. Ask and we will send both in the format you would actually receive.
